The core of Plaza Theatre Company is run by two families. The Barrus and Siler families moved to Cleburne, TX in April of 2007 to start and operate the theatre.
JaceSon P. Barrus (Artistic Director) - JaceSon brings almost 20 years of experience in live theatre management to his role at Plaza Theatre Company. He has served in a variety of management positions including Marketing Director, Customer Service Manager, Technical Director, Customer Service Representative, Set, Sound and Lighting Designer, Stage Manager, Director, Choreographer and Actor.
After moving to Texas in the spring of 2004, JaceSon and his wife Tina have co-Directed nearly 20 live productions in the DFW area including JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, NUNSENSE, FOREVER PLAID, OKLAHOMA!, WILL ROGERS FOLLIES, SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS, THE MUSIC MAN and AIDA.
On March 8th, 2010, JaceSon and Tina were named best Directors of a non-Equity Musical for their Directoral turn in Plaza Theatre Company's 2009 production of AIDA by John Garcia's The Column Awards. The production also won best Musical (non-Equity) as well as seven additional Column Awards.
Further, John Garcia's The Column Awards named JaceSon best non-Equity Featured Actor for his performance as Ms. Cowper in Plaza Theatre Company's 2009 production of CASH ON DELIVERY.
In his capacity as Plaza Theatre Company's Artistic Director, JaceSon is responsible for managing the process of delivering an annual Season of Plays as well as selecting those who will Direct, Assistant Direct, Stage Manage, Choreograph and Musically Direct each production.
JaceSon has spent nearly his entire professional life obtaining hands on experience in virtually every aspect of live theater production. This experience has accumulated into a life time of contacts in the theater industry.
Kristina S. Barrus (Director of Education) - Tina has almost 20 years experience in teaching theater and working with children. Her unique vision springs from a childhood spent in the arts. She first appeared on stage at the tender age of 5 on stage and since then has performed in over 100 productions.
Tina won many acting awards including Best Actress at Palace Playhouse in Utah. She received musical theater scholarship to both Utah State University and Weber State University.
She has directed over 30 community productions including working with award winning composer lyricist Janeen Brady in the world priemiere production of “I Nephi.” Tina assisted Ms. Brady in adapting the children’s album for stage and directed the cast of 140 performers.
Additionally, Tina and husband JaceSon were named co-Directors of the Year (non-Equity) by John Garcia's The Column Awards for their work on AIDA. The musical was also sected as Best non-Equity musical of the year.
Tina's work as resident costumer at Plaza has also been widely praised netting her a Column Award for AIDA as well as multiple nominations.
G. Aaron Siler (Director of Operations) - As the director of operations for The Plaza Theatre Company, Aaron brings diverse experience and knowledge He graduated Magna Cum Laude at the Art Institute of Dallas in Audio and Video engineering and graduated Summa Cum Laude from American Intercontinental University with a BS in Information technology.
Previous ventures include audio and video editing for clients such as EDS, Nortel Networks, Bob Singleton Productions (working on audio for the TV series Barney), and Omega Productions (working on live audio engineering for the Dallas Cowboys).
Aaron now owns an Internet consulting business designing web applications, setting up email services, and computer support for small to medium sized businesses.
Aaron has worked at and performed in several different theaters across the nation in many capacities from box office, directing, to performing.
Milette Siler (Marketing and Development Director) - In 1999 Milette earned her associates in Theater Arts from Ricks College, ID. She has performed in several different local theaters in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.
Milette currently manages a group of over 100 sales representatives as an independent demonstrator for Stampin Up!, a rubber stamping company, and is responsible for training and motivating her sales team and speaking at national conferences.
